DJ & Artist Set Photography in San Antonio, TX
Behind the decks, in the booth, and out on the floor — performance photography built for DJs, producers, and live electronic acts across Texas.
Close-up coverage of the set, not just the room
This is performance photography for the people actually making the night happen. I shoot DJs, producers, and live electronic acts up close — hands on the platters, the head-down focus mid-mix, the hands-in-the-air moment when the drop lands, the grin during a back-to-back, the look out at a packed floor from behind the booth. If you are the talent, this is your set, documented like it mattered.
It is built for DJs and producers who need real promo images, for labels and collectives who want consistent visuals across a roster, and for booking agents and promoters who need to show what a slot actually looked and felt like. San Antonio's scene runs on word of mouth and a strong feed — from the warehouse parties on the east side to the club nights downtown to the Austin and Texas festival circuit — and the right set photos are how an artist gets re-booked.
What You Get
In-the-moment booth shots
Hands on the gear, the focus in the mix, the reaction to the drop — tight frames that show you actually working the set.
Stage + crowd perspective
The view from behind the decks looking out at a full floor, plus the room reacting back — both sides of the energy.
Motion & light treatment
Strobes, lasers, and haze used on purpose — frames that read like the lighting felt, not washed-out snapshots.
Fast turnaround
Same-week delivery with next-day social selects on request, so you post while the night is still fresh.
Verticals + horizontals
Reels and Story crops alongside wide frames for flyers, press, and thumbnails — ready for every channel.
Cleared for promo & label use
Files delivered cleared for booking, promo, and label use so you and your agency can post and pitch freely.
How It Works
Send your date & set time
Tell me the venue, your slot, and whether it is a single set, a b2b, or a full lineup. We lock the booking and a rough shot plan.
I shoot the set
I move between the booth, the stage, and the crowd through your whole set — working the house lighting with no on-stage flash.
Edit & deliver
You get a private gallery of edited high-res files in vertical and horizontal crops, same-week, with social selects on request.
Post & pitch
Images come cleared for promo and label use, so you, your label, and your booking agent can run them anywhere.
Why FXKStudios
I am Joshua Velez, and I shoot in these rooms because I am part of this scene — I understand DJ and electronic culture from the inside, not as an outsider with a camera. I know the difference between the build and the drop, why a b2b reads differently than a solo set, and why the crowd reaction is half the photo.
Low-light and strobe-heavy rooms are where most photographers fall apart. San Antonio's warehouse parties and club nights run dark, with hard strobes, lasers, and haze. I shoot fast glass at high ISO and read the lighting in real time, so the frames come out sharp and full of motion instead of blurry or blown out.
The goal is simple: get the shots that look like the energy actually felt. Not stiff posed frames — the real moment, in focus, lit the way the room was lit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you shoot a whole festival lineup or multiple DJs in one night?
Yes. Multi-act nights are most of what I do. I work a full lineup or a stacked b2b bill in one booking, moving with the set times so every artist gets real coverage — not just whoever happens to be on when I walk in. For festivals and all-day events we set a schedule in advance so I'm at the right stage for each slot.
Do you get the crowd too, or just the DJ?
Both. The story of a set is the artist and the room reacting to them. I shoot from behind the decks looking out at the floor, from the pit looking up at the booth, and from inside the crowd — so you get the performance and the energy it pulled out of the room.
Do you use flash on stage? It throws off my set.
No flash on stage by default. San Antonio's clubs and warehouse rooms are dark and strobe-heavy, and I shoot fast glass at high ISO to work with the house lighting instead of fighting it. If a venue or artist is fine with off-stage fill I'll discuss it first, but the default is no-flash so I never break your moment.
How do I get the files for promo and social?
You receive a private online gallery of edited high-resolution files, delivered in both vertical crops for Reels and Stories and horizontal frames for flyers, press, and thumbnails. Images come cleared for promo, booking, and label use so you and your agency can post and pitch without chasing permissions.
How fast is turnaround?
I deliver same-week for most sets, with a small batch of next-day social-ready selects on request so you can post while the night is still relevant. Festival and multi-night bookings are scheduled case by case.
What do you charge for set photography?
Rates depend on the length of the set, the number of artists, and how the files will be used — a single headline slot is priced differently than a full lineup or a touring residency. Text 210-331-6899 or email booking@fxkstudios.com with your date and venue and I'll send a quote.
